Choosing a method

Three loading methods, and when each one wins

MethodBest forTypical cargoMain constraint
Container1–4 cars, parts, small vehiclesSedans, SUVs, pickups, spare parts cratesInternal dimensions — height and width are the limit
RoRoAnything that drives and fits a rampCars, buses, truck heads, self-propelled machineryVessel must call the port; sailing schedules are fixed
BreakbulkOut-of-gauge and heavyMining trucks, excavators, cranes, oversize busesLifting gear at both ends; higher port and lashing cost
Not sure which applies to your cargo? Send dimensions, weight and whether the unit drives under its own power — that is enough for us to tell you which methods are actually available. Compare the methods in detail.

Why us

Why forwarders and receivers book with us

We are the loading side, not a broker

Export customs declaration, terminal booking, lashing and securing, bill of lading and certificate of origin are handled by our own team. There is no second company between you and the vessel.

Clearance where it counts

In West Africa and Madagascar we arrange the destination clearance ourselves. One party from the supplier’s yard to the vehicle released at the port — no handover gap.

Northern China ports, not just one

Tianjin, Qingdao, Lianyungang and Dalian. If your supplier is in Hebei, Shandong or Jiangsu, the truck does not cross the country to reach the ship.

We say when a method will not work

A dump truck that is 3.4 m high does not fit a standard container whatever the broker promises. We measure first and quote the method that passes the terminal.

Photographic loading record

Every unit is photographed before, during and after loading and securing. You get the set with the shipping documents.

Vehicles racked inside 40ft containers at the loading yard
Container: vehicles racked and strapped before the doors close.
Car driving up the ramp of a RoRo vessel
RoRo: driven on under the direction of the terminal team.
New vehicles staged at a Chinese export container yard
Passenger vehicles: staged and measured in the yard before loading.
Mining truck lifted by crane at the quay
Breakbulk: crane-loaded out-of-gauge cargo.

Questions we get asked often

Can you ship a single car?
Yes. A single car usually travels in a shared 40ft high-cube container on a rack, or as RoRo if the vessel calls the discharge port. We quote both so you can compare.
Do you handle export customs clearance in China?
Yes. Export declaration, commodity code classification and inspection are handled in house for shipments we book.
Can you ship vehicles that do not run?
Non-running vehicles cannot be driven onto a RoRo vessel. They travel in a container with winch loading, or as breakbulk with crane lift. Both are possible; the cost differs.
What documents do you need from me?
Vehicle details, commercial invoice, packing list, consignee details and any destination permits. Full list here.
